Flores adalah pulau yang berada di Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT) yang terkepung oleh pulau-pulau kecil dan gunung berapi. pulau ukuran 3x luar pulau Bali, berjarak 320 km dari pulau Bali, Sulawesi, dan Timor. Pulau flores disebut dengan pulau nipa atau pulau ular, karena bentuk pulaunya ada bagian yang kurus memanjang dan berkepala seperti ular. Flores berasal dari bahasa Portugis, cabo de flores yang artinya bunga. Pantai flores terdiri dari bunga-bunga dibawah laut (terumbu karang) yang indah.

Dengan banyaknya pegunungan Berapi, hal ini membuat tanah di Flores menjadi sangat subur, salah satu lokasi tempat penanaman kopi Arabika ada di Lereng gunung Inie Rie (2230 m) di kota Bajawa, kab. Ngada. Dari kejauhan sudah bisa di lihat gunung yang berubah warna sepanjang musim, seperti halnya dengan vegetasi di daerah subtropis. Ketika kemarau, gunung ini bewarna merah kekuningan dan membara ketika disinarai matahari senja, di mana pohon-pohon layu karena tidak ada hujan, dan tanah gunung berapi yang bersuhu panas dari gunung yang aktif. Ketika musim hujun, gunung ini tampak lebih bersahabat degan warna hijau kelabu, karena senantiasa berkabut dan hujan.

Karakter kopi flores bajawa yaitu wangi kayu eksotis dengan perpaduan aroma floral. Kopi Flores memiliki keasaman yang baik dengan body heavy, kental, dan seimbang menciptakan kenikmatan tersendiri. Selain Kopi Flores Bajawa Arabika, adapun terdapat kopi Robusta mangarai dan Kopi Robusta Wae Rebo yang mempunyai hanya 6 rumah adat unik seperti kura-kura di tenga-tengah pegunungan yang hanya bisa dilalui dengan jalan kaki yang memakan waktu lama. Tidak banyak orang yang perncah mencicipi kopi Flores Bajawa ini, walau tinggal di Indonesia, kebanyakan kopi Bajawa di ekspor ke Amerika oleh eksportir dari Jawa.
